Dog ate rat poison and lived

Lightning, our 8- or 9-year-old lab/terrier mix, snacked on a couple of cubes of rat poison that she snagged from the shed the other day. Fortunately for her, Dane saw her eating them. We took her to the emergency vet and they made her barf. Found out during the visit that ipecac will kill a dog faster than rat poison. Hydrogen peroxide is the better choice. Just a tablespoon on a piece of bread.
