Katherine Goldstein: Food, Inc.: HuffPost Bloggers Weigh In Video.
The new movie reminds me of Supersize Me, the excellent documentary about a guy who ate nothing but McDonald’s grub for a month. I haven’t seen Food, Inc. yet, but an issue that has bothered me for a long time is the way agribusiness has co-opted school lunches. I refused to let my older daughter eat the school lunches when she was in grade and middle school and I wont’ let her eat it now that she is in high school. School lunches consist of nothing but fast food junk . Eating that kind of non-food leads to obesity and health problems. If you don’t have kids in school, get ready for a shock: truly godawful crap is being served to them routinely despite studies that show that kids don’t learn well after eating high sugar, high fat food for lunch/breakfast.
