The answer to the man’s question below is that there is a distortion in the groupthink that lets Christians project their own flaws onto others and by doing so obscure whatever self-reflection they might have had. This, of course, is true for other groupthinkers, too.

“So, why are Christians so willing to believe unsubstantiated rumors? And more troubling, why are Christians, who should hold the highest standards of truth-telling, so eager to spread such rumors — and even downright libels?”
